Designed and built this e-commerce site for a company that offers off-roading and camping trips across the Baja plus parts for off-road enthusiasts.
Transverse Web site
Transverse needed a simple yet informative site to allow potential new customers and press access to information about Transverse. HTML, CSS and jQuery werewere used.
With the focus on marketing and using the site as a touchstone for potential new business was always the primary focus. As the blee(p) products would roll out to customers a customers section would then be added along with a php based bulletin board for information sharing, product suggestions and update notices.
Please Note the current site no longer has my design or code being used.
Blee(p)
Working in an agile development process we tried to marry not just the billing backend to customer service and POS but to also build into it a marketing and product creation engine. To date there is nothing like this and when released it will be the first of its kind.
Each type of user has their own unique set of links and interface based on tasks that need to be performed.
The challenge to me was to develop a system that could be understood for high school educated POS personnel up to "power users" with extensive knowledge of billing systems and operations. Because some sections can have multiple levels of user access, sections were developed with spring loaded sections to limit the amount of information presented if it was not needed at that moment. Using Ajax these sections can be pre-populated based on the user type interacting with the section at that time. This way if a manager had to ring up a sale their controls would just have more options than say that of a regular clerk yet looked similar enough to a store clerk that there would not be a need for multiple manuals or training documents.
This is a secured development server please contact me for more information about this project if you have any other questions.
BrainMedia
When I was first brought into BrainMedia I was hired to help with a new cell phone interface they needed. Soon my design skills were applied to rebranding the company and their music product.
I wore several hats while at BrainMedia as their Creative Director. UI, IA, designer, web coder, cell phone interface developer, branding and graphic designer.
The Company was closed August of 2008
Fearless Concepts - Island Records
One of Fearless' largest clients, Island Records presented a multitude of challenges and opportunities. Encompass all their artists and labels under one site yet also allow some acts to still have external sites that could link back to the label. A full working digital download store when itunes was just starting up and maintain connection to the fans for the artists.
One part of this long running project was the creation of the Universal Artist Bar that I created that could be placed on any non-Island web site that an artist had so that the label was still branded, yet did not interfere with the artist's own site's look and feel. This would also be used for logging into the label's Fan Network site that would include messageboards, chats, and online promotional give-a-ways for members.
While working for fearless projects for island included banner direction and concept, artist image downloads, artist pages, non-island artist sites and work on the island website itself and it's other labels.
Leading a team of 3 art directors and 3 production artists under very tight deadlines while working succinctly with the technical department made for an intesesting and dynamic work environment. Projects were always coming in that had to meet with label releases and artist tours and updates.
DefJam
Another of Islands bigger powerhouse labels DefJam Records had a significant amount of work generated for it. This is but a small sample of work Directed by me.
Working with artists like Jay-Z brought more demands to a project. For the return of Jay-z there was a huge tour and record release party that all had to coincide with the site launch as well as digital file distribution and sale kick off. Typically with a release there are other digital assets that must be ready for the launch such as wallpapers and phone icons. These assets all had to fit with the artist's look and feel of their new album. Coordinating these things with their own staff and label was a challenge that made for some of my fondest memories of the job.
Fearless Concepts - CSI Hard Evidence
What started off as a single game mini site turned into creating a portal for Ubisoft's whole CSI line of games.
Each game had its own unique look and feel and while working on the Hard Evidence title we became tasked with also creating the Portal for all the CSI games to fall under.
LINKS
Uguide
Worlds first software to control your DVR with your cell phone.
The third and last iteration of Gist and it's technology. We developed and created cell phone technology that linked TV listings and the ability to make recommendations to your phone and allow you to also control your DVR with your phone anyplace you could send and receive sms
TVMag
What started off as an offshoot from Gist's original TV listings Website, TVMAG was a streamlined version of some of the more popular content on gist. It had a staff of writers and photo editors working on it daily to provide the latest in entertainment news along with soap opera updates, celebrity of the day and a trivia game. TVMAG became the most used interactive application on the Dish Network.
Using MHP and later OCAP to build the product I learned a lot not only about television display but also interactive television and on demand systems.APL Digital - (Ammirati Puris Lintas)
The work shown covers a variety of projects worked on while at APL Digital.
Long before CSS and even HTML5 cut images and 640X480 was the norm. After successfully building the Iridium site some time later we were asked to revisit it and update its looks. Comparisons of before and after are shown. When we first built their site they wanted to go with darker colors and earth tones with a feeling of space to connect with their satellite phone business. After revisiting we decided to go with a more brighter pallet and more towards earth than space.
UPS was one of my largest projects with day to day work. Updates to the company website and their community outreach program site was a staple of work for me. I also was part of the team developing UPS' secure electronic document exchange. In the early days of the web PGP was limited and mostly unknown so UPS was trying to allow its customers to send secured e-files with ease and concern free. I also developed banner ads for the new service.
The APL site offered up steaming video and shockwave to help show off the talent it kept in house. At the time when dialup was the norm it was the tallent of the team that keep the site always up and running smooth.
Baja Overland
This was a small freelance project for a company that does Baja excursions and treks based in California.
Songza Web site
Songza relaunched their site with a new fun and toy like approach. They wanted to make the site fun to be on and interact with. HTML, CSS, JS and jQuery werewere used.
I was brought on after the concept designs were created by another vendor to build the functioning parts of the site.
ensou(p)
Ensou contacted me about designing a logo and branding to help express their upscale urban look for their clothing line.
Working with objects typically related to a clothing designer I approached the logo with a stripped down minimal approach that gave a clean look while keeping with the look and feel of the clothes.
Their website is still in production
